TITLE: Ncic Cjis Standards For Discipline

PROCEDURE

  1. Upon suspicion of or receipt of information that a possible breach of security of the IOWA System has occurred or been committed by a Fifth Judicial District Department of Correctional Services staff, an investigation will be initiated by the Fifth Judicial District Department of Correctional Services. The Terminal Agency Coordinator (TAC) will contact the Technology Services Bureau, Iowa Department of Public Safety upon the initiation of the investigation to alert them to the possible breach and to inform them that an investigation is ensuing.
  2. If as a result of the investigation, disciplinary action is deemed appropriate, the disciplinary policies of the Fifth Judicial District Department of Correctional Services will be followed which could result in any appropriate discipline up to and including discharge from employment. The Technology Services Bureau, Iowa Department of Public Safety will be advised and informed of the progress of the investigation and possible outcome.
  3. Should the investigation show that a possible law violation has occurred, the information will be forwarded to the Division of Criminal Investigation.
