TITLE: Reasonable Accommodation

POLICY

The facility will insure that reasonable accommodation is made for access to the facility by the public and is usable by staff and visitors with disabilities.

PROCEDURES

  1. Prospective employees are asked during the interview process if they can perform the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodation. Those who need a reasonable accommodation, upon being hired, will receive it, unless it would impose an undue hardship or direct threat.
  2. Employees who become disabled but are still able to perform the essential functions of the job and are not located in handicap accessible Building 68 or Building 70 may have their office relocated to one of those buildings.
  3. Offenders who have disabilities and have been assigned to reside in Building 65 will be reassigned to handicap accessible Building 68 or Building 70.
  4. Offenders who are assigned to Building 65 who have visitors who require handicap accessibility will be allowed to visit in handicap accessible Building 68 or Building 70.
